Chaucers Essays on Literature and Essay Topics

Chaucer's Essays on Literature and Essay TopicsGeoffrey Chaucer was a great author, and an equally great essayist. His work is important to all of us, but most of us are not writing essays about it, even though it would benefit us in many ways. Geoffrey Chaucer did a lot of things, and his essay topics are probably the best of all of them.In 'Concerning the Censured for Non-Conformity' Chaucer had written about what he thought was the hypocrisy of the church at that time. He called it hypocritical, and I have to agree with him. I do believe that the church has to make some changes, and I agree with him. The hypocrisy could be reversed by doing this, which would be to take the pulpits of the people back from the Devil, who was trying to take control.Chaucer asked us to consider what the Bible says about us, and what Christianity says about us. If we keep our word, then who are we and how can we become better than we are? When Christians try to help us become better, they are only doin g their duty.Be careful what you ask of your children. What do you ask? Do you ask them to do something that is impossible, that is life-threatening, or that is immoral? We should not tell our children what we believe to be true, so let's just concentrate on what we believe to be right.Other examples of Christian writings by Chaucer is 'An Essay concerning Popular Opinions' where he wrote about famous men of the time. We know how those people turned out, but they did. You could have been a famous person at one time or could still be one. It does not matter, because we are all under God, and if he wants us to become a famous person, we will be one.We must always remember, while we are in the here and now, that all these famous people, people like Newton, Shakespeare, and Einstein, came up through this life having learned these same 'crucial' principles. All we are concerned about, is learning the same principles in order to create success in our own lives. I do believe that it is pos sible for a Christian to be successful, but it takes more than Christianity, it takes intellectual honesty, character, and a willingness to change.Geoffrey Chaucer did not start out with all the answers for how to make a living, and how to be a good parent, or what we should not do. But we can learn those lessons, and be better persons as a result. We must always remember that those who are with us, are with us through thick and thin, and that even in our adversity, they stand beside us in spirit, and in truth.I am reminded of Jesus' words when he said, 'And I say also unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.' Why? Because of the same principle that Geoffrey Chaucer wrote about. In your adversity, stand with the man who has conquered it all, and never give up hope.
